digital storytelling.this project involved taking several still photos gleaned from google image search (which, unfortunately, i didn't remember to record sources for - sorry!) and spinning them together into a little three-minute video using microsoft photo story 3, which is a nifty little piece of software that's free to download.
my group consisted of myself, David Jasso, Karen Lambert, and Rasheena Pierce. click here to check out our wikispace where we all gathered pictures and stuff. click here to watch the final project on youtube, complete with cheap-staticky-mic voiceover by yours truly. i sound like an absolute goober. our digital story was about plate tectonics, as per this TEKS requirement: Grade 6 Science TEKS:
(10) Earth and space. The student understands the structure of Earth, the rock cycle, and plate tectonics. The student is expected to: (C) identify the major tectonic plates, including Eurasian, African, Indo-Australian, Pacific, North American, and South American; and (D) describe how plate tectonics causes major geological events such as ocean basins, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and mountain building. |
