ted talks.who the heck is ted and why should we care what he has to say?
TED is a website that holds lots of different videos from lots of different people on lots of different subjects. this project involved summarizing a video from TED and giving a presentation on it, complete with pictures once again gleaned from google image search (although they're all credited at the end of the video this time). the presentation was filmed, and we had to add a title and credits to the film. of course, i am a showoff and a perfectionist so i spent like eight bloody hours adding music and transitions and typesetting and generally wasting my time since for some unknown reason, youtube kept deleting my title screen. i uploaded the bloody video three times. every time, poof, no title screen. finally, i managed to convert the video into a format that youtube likes and reuploaded it a fourth time. i call the video "ideation," which is a bit of a play on words, since the video is about ideas that people die for and 'ideation' is the proper psychological term for contemplating suicide. click here if you want to go to youtube and watch it. if you want to watch the original video that i summarized, it's here: dan dennett on dangerous memes |
